Birth Choice of Temecula provides educational books, DVDs, videos and brochures to help educate on teen abstinence and the high risk of STD’s in today’s world. Birth Choice provides information and counseling to help deter children from high risk, sexual behaviors prevalent in today’s teens. Birth Choice can help reduce teen pregnancy and STDs such as HIV/AIDS, HPV and others by educating children on the importance of abstinence until marriage. Birth Choice of Temecula will only educate Children if the parent approve.
Christian Mentors is now collaborating with Birth Choice of Temecula on a grant from the US Department of Education, to provide a mentoring program for children grades 4-8 that might improve attendance in school and increase their overall GPA.
A renowned, life-changing, and effective parenting course by Barbara D. Tooker, M.A., Accent On Parenting; Tools for Building 21st Century Kids is offered online via a self-guided, independent study in both English and Spanish, and covers five basic areas: Human Growth & Development, Communication, Decision making, Self-Esteem, and Discipline. This course meets the California requirements for parenting curricula and has received approval for court-mandated attendees, and includes a certificate of completion for family reunification, mediation, co-parenting, divorce, or incarceration. This course meets or exceeds the requirements of the California Welfare and Institutions Code 165007.7, and has been approved by the California Superior Court as of October 19, 2007 for any purposes related to decrees regarding parenting skills education courses. It has also been approved by the Riverside County Department of Social Services, Child Protective Services Division, after a two year peer review that included the California Department of Social Services.
Barbara has taught parenting classes for 16 years. She is a professional speaker and trainer in the areas of parenting, education, and literacy. A former teacher at K-University levels, librarian and consultant, she co-founded the National Parenting Institute (NPI) in 1989. NPI is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping parents strengthen their family life, partner effectively with schools, and use techniques that build 21st century kids who are competent, caring, resilient, and successful.
