Evaluation

As a organization, answering the following questions may help you determine if this is a good choice for you:

Question: Does your organization conduct a nationwide FBI fingerprint check for each potential mentor?

Christian Mentors conducts a nationwide search of criminal offenses using a national fingerprint check. Many times fingerprint checks are conducted at the local or state level leaving open a high possibility of a conviction in another state.

Question: Does your organization have the staff to effectively recruit, train, screen, and monitor all mentoring relationships?

Most organizations drastically underestimate the amount of time required to operate an effective mentoring ministry. With the increasing time demands placed upon staff, this ministry will often fail due to lack of resources. Christian Mentors can save your organization hundreds of hours in time and money for a) program development (i.e. application forms, recruitment videos, mentoring orientation and training materials) and b) sustaining the program (i.e. tracking progress, monitoring training, etc.)

Question: Does your organization provide free training and/or retreats for single parent families?

As a non-profit organization, Christian Mentors is dedicated to serving the needs of our program participants. Proceeds from Christian Mentors Church Licensing Program are used to conduct regional retreats designed especially for mentor program support. Parents are taught by Christian pastors and professional speakers and the youth are ministered to by the mentors in the program in the best conference centers available.

Question: Does your organization offer an online mentor training option for mentors and parents interested in joining the program?

Christian Mentors has developed an online mentor orientation and training module in which a potential mentor can complete the mentor training program online. This online tool is a huge time saver which allows those interested in the program to learn all the required information without involving staff.

Question: Does your organization provide adult mentors for both single parents and mentors?

Christian Mentors offers an adult mentoring program to adult individuals. The program, based on a biblical model, attempts to encourage each individual has key people involved in their lives: a Paul (someone who is mentoring them), a Timothy (somebody they are mentoring), and a Barnabus (someone similar to them they keep accountable).
